This past weekend I went to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with Beta Alpha Psi (the accounting service fraternity I’m involved in). We had 3 separate groups within our organization go, and my group had 4 people, including me. My group presented in the Best Practices competition, in the collaboration and leadership section. Our topic was our presentation on campus a week prior, on the tax implications of NIL deals. These deals are becoming more prevalent as they are “name, image and likeness” brand deals based on the skills of the student athlete. To start off the day, we got up early in the morning and left by 7:30 a.m. It was a 4-hour drive to Pittsburgh and once we arrived, there were various lectures and introductions. We could then pick some of the presentations we wanted to attend, and I decided on one about public accounting myths/truths and the other was on imposter syndrome.
