3 Places I Want to Visit

 I love traveling. I think it’s so fun to learn about how people live in different parts of the world and even other places in the US. Today, I’ll be telling you all about 3 places I want to visit in the near future.

The first place I want to visit is Salzburg, Austria. This is number one on my bucket list. My grandma, who has since passed away grew up in this beautiful city and moved to America after WW2 because she fell in love with an American soldier from Kentucky. I’d like to visit the birthplace of Mozart, the Salzburg Cathedral, check out the coffee shops/boutiques and take pictures of the beautiful mountains. The second place I would like to visit is Santorini, Greece. I want to sit on the beach and watch the sunset drinking wine. Using trip advisor, I figured out that I can go on a wine-tasting tour, which is right up my alley! I would also like to see all the cats TikTok has told me live there. I also want to see the Santorini volcano, I’ve never seen a volcano before. This destination spot is also very picturesque and to me, a must-visit. If I’m feeling brave, I might even snorkel in the clear waters. However, getting trapped in an underground cave, or my air running out while I’m underwater is one of my worst fears. The third place I would like to visit is Los Angeles, California. I’ve already been to Las Vegas, which is my favorite city and have yet to enter the state of California at all. In Los Angeles, I’d like to see the Griffith Observatory/Park because it’s supposed to be a phenomenal view and I love hiking. I’d also like to see the Santa Monica Pier/Beach and the original farmer’s market. My brother got to play with the ONU marching band on the pier and has told me it’s a must see. While Los Angeles is a big contrast from the other places I want to visit, exploring American cities is also a fun past-time for me.     That is a super cool backstory for wanting to visit Salzburg! I just looked up pictures and I can see why it's so appealing. I would also like to visit Greece sometime too, my grandpa is from there.

    Salzburg is on our list for possible places to visit on our honeymoon! Santori was also on there but we removed it because it has become very expensive and touristy. I have been to LA, cannot say that I am a fan of LA. I went with my mother in law to visit the hospitals and network with doctors at the major hospital systems. I was not a fan of the prices of food or the traffic. Our breakfast of 2 salmon bagels, a coffee, and fruit bowl was $100.

The Music I Listen To

I grew up listening to music. My parents and grandparents always had Christian, 80s, Irish and Elvis Presley playing. They had music playing while making dinner, cleaning and even while we just hung out around the house. I started playing the piano in 5 th grade for my church and I started playing clarinet in my school band in 6 th grade. I would have to say that playing instruments gave me a lot more respect for those that play instruments and sing for a living, it’s not easy. Debunking Twitter

Hi everyone! Keeping up with the theme of informing you all about what I’ve been learning in my class’s textbook, I will be writing this blog about the innerworkings of Twitter’s algorithm, format and how I feel about the usability of this form of social media. I had Twitter my senior year of high school to keep up with sports events in the high school I went to and my friends. I didn’t follow any businesses. I deleted it and recently redownloaded it 3 years later to see if anything had changed and it hadn’t too much. According to the textbook, “Essentials of Social Media Marketing” the algorithm relies on ranking signals such as recency of the tweet, relevancy (involving keywords), engagement (likes, comments, retweets), the number of followers of the user and location relative to the specific user. My Birthday Weekend Recap

 My birthday was March 21, which was a Tuesday. The week prior was Spring break, so I decided to go to Kentucky for a weekend trip with my boyfriend! The first part of our trip was in Loretto, Kentucky. We drove about 6 hours, after waking up at 7:00 in the morning. We finally made it to our destination, where we were able to get a tour of Maker’s Mark bourbon distillery. As soon as we got there, I was in awe of how green the landscape was and how many cows and horses I saw grazing in the fields. I even saw baby lambs! Attached below is a wonderful view of the grounds. We got a full explanation of how bourbon is made. It starts with a mix of grains (corn, barley and rye). The mixture must be made up of at least 51% corn. This mixture of grains gets yeast and water added to it and then gets placed in a vat to let the yeast do its job (fermentation).
