I Made a Podcast

This past week I wrote a podcast on social media trends, specifically how keeping up with the ever-changing world of trends can be an issue. If you’d like to listen to it, I’ve linked it below.

I talked about why it’s important to keep up with trends and how you can do that for your business/company you work for. I think, for a world that’s evolved to spend a good portion of their day online, it can be a blessing and a curse. Social media allows us to be closer together when there’s a big physical distance between us. However, social media can also be addicting, and many (including me) spend way too much time on our phones.

Personally, I don’t participate in trends whether it be on Tiktok or Instagram. But that doesn’t stop me from watching others do them and getting entertainment from it. As I briefly touched on in the podcast, businesses and people trying to sell/market their products to younger consumers would have the best luck on social media. Trying to be relatable to the younger generations and partake in the things we like allows them to get more respect from us. We also tend to be “influenced” by those that are partaking in these trends. Right after Christmas, there was so many people posting “Christmas hauls” and before that, there were many posting “what I want for Christmas” Tiktoks. There are main brands that were popular in those Tiktoks and even now when I think of a specific skincare brand (Laneige or Glow Recipe for example), I associate it with influencers I saw on TikTok marketing it.

In conclusion, I think that keeping up with trends on social media is a daunting task for businesses but could lead to more customers that are loyal to the brand.

My Favorite Foods

There are many foods I enjoy and for this blog post I’m going to try to rank my top five. I love going out to restaurants and trying new foods, but these food combinations are tried and true. Thai Fried Rice: This food is heavenly. I could eat Thai fried rice every week for the rest of my life and not get sick of it. This is hands down my favorite food of all time. I used to enjoy Chinese fried rice until I tasted Thai. I think it has to do with the seasonings and spices they put in it. I always get my Thai fried rice with chicken because I’m allergic to shrimp. I’m getting allergy tested the second week of June to see if I outgrew my allergy and if I did, I might have a new variation of fried rice to try. Thai Jasmine in Lima, Ohio is my favorite Thai restaurant ever, it’s a must visit.       Steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans: This is a classic combination. You can get it at any steakhouse, but my favorite place to get it is at my house. My dad uses a propane grill...

3 Places I Want to Visit

I love traveling. I think it’s so fun to learn about how people live in different parts of the world and even other places in the US. Today, I’ll be telling you all about 3 places I want to visit in the near future. The first place I want to visit is Salzburg, Austria. This is number one on my bucket list. My grandma, who has since passed away grew up in this beautiful city and moved to America after WW2 because she fell in love with an American soldier from Kentucky. I’d like to visit the birthplace of Mozart, the Salzburg Cathedral, check out the coffee shops/boutiques and take pictures of the beautiful mountains. The picture I’ve attached below is the Bavarian mountains surrounding Salzburg. The second place I would like to visit is Sa...

How to Market on LinkedIn

LinkedIn’s users are primarily business professionals and those in college searching for a full-time job. Connecting with people on LinkedIn is an easy way to stay in touch and find out more information on what others do for work. Many businesses have LinkedIn pages and job recruiters frequently message those they think would be a good fit for the company. I use LinkedIn to share my achievements, skills, activities, and prior work experience. I get contacted by recruiters often urging me to apply for various jobs. I’m connected not only with fellow college students, but those I have worked with at Rea and Associates and business professionals that have accounting experience in the greater Cleveland area (where I am from). I’ve reached out to many asking for insight on navigating the job search in the accounting world and have found that many are quick to reply and offer advice. I get ads for accounting firms, companies in my area and even data analytics software programs. These...
